Shanaze Reade is a well-known BMX racer and track cyclist and, since retiring, has gone on to become a personal trainer and fitness coach, turning her attention to Instagram as well as the real-world.
Having begun racing at the tender age of 10, Shanaze has had a long and successful career in the sport, collecting many medals and trophies along the way.
Concentrating on BMX, Shanaze represented Great Britain for the event’s first inclusion in the Olympic Games in 2008, before being selected in the British squad for the World Track Cycling Championships in 2009. She also represented her home country in the London 2012 Olympics.
After announcing her retirement to the sport in 2017, Shanaze used her knowledge and expertise to start a new career in fitness coaching and personal training.
Using her platform on Instagram to help others, Shanaze regularly shares videos to her IGTV explaining the benefits of exercising for both physical and mental health.
With a dedicated Instagram account and personal training business, ‘Body Workshop by Shanaze’, she shares useful workout routines as well as videos detailing how to perform exercises safely and correctly. Shanaze also provides a real sense of community and togetherness throughout her online presence.
Using Instagram to promote positivity, Shanaze is an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and regularly documents the behind the scenes of her fitness journey as well as sharing snaps of holidays and days out with her girlfriend and family.
Remaining honest and relatable, Shanaze is open about her battles with mental health and hopes to inspire and motivate her fans and followers.
