After the year we’ve all had, cosying down with our favourite show was just what we all needed. We’d also like to say a HUGE congratulations to Giovanna Fletcher for being crowned Queen of the Castle!

And here at Influencer Matchmaker, we have been able to work with I’m A Celeb royalty, including the newly appointed Queen of the Castle! We teamed up Giovanna with Amazon Handmade to collaborate on their Mother’s Day campaign, which was incredibly well-received. As well as Gi, we have worked with the one and only Caitlyn Jenner by partnering her with online fashion giant, PrettyLittleThing for their first awards show. And it doesn’t stop there though, we’ve also worked with the likes of James Haskell and Jacqueline Jossa! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for this year’s camp mates...

Swapping jungles for castles

This series was like no other. With travel restrictions still in place for most of us, Ant and Dec traded in the famous Australian jungle for Gwrych Castle in Wales. And despite the changes, the show was as brilliant as ever!

They swapped sunshine for rain, and the usual drama for heart-warming chats. And with the final pulling in over 9.7 million viewers for the final, it was the perfect combination of feel-good vibes and keeping us all on the edge of our seats.

Many of us wondered whether this year’s show would be as worthy a watch as last year due to coronavirus and some pretty big changes, but with the final racking up 600k more viewers than 2019, it is proof that it was a huge success.

So, whilst the celebs were getting up close and personal with castle critters and rather peculiar Welsh delicacies, we’ve been closely monitoring their follower counts. Giovanna may be Queen of the Castle, but who has claimed the top spot for social media followers?

Let’s find out...

1. Jordan North

The entire nation fell in love with BBC Radio 1’s Jordan North. From spending his first week being nominated to do all of the trials after that scene during episode one, to being a firm fan-favourite, Jordan was the bookies favourite to win the competition.

He entered the castle with just 92.3k followers on Instagram and left with over half a million! With a seriously impressive increase of 443%, he may not have been crowned King of the Castle, but he most definitely takes the crown as the King of Social Media.

Jordan demonstrated his hilarious sense of humour and infectious laugh with every mention of his happy place, it is no wonder that he has seen such a huge increase in social media followers. We expect this to continue to grow and can’t wait to see all of the exciting opportunities that will undoubtedly come Jordan’s way!

2. Vernon Kay

The heartthrob of this year's line-up, Vernon Kay finished the show in third place, however he comes second in our social media ranking, with a whopping 282% increase in Instagram followers.

Best known as the host of All Star Family Fortunes, Vernon entered the castle with 132k followers, and similarly to Jordan, has left with over half a million – and counting!

Showcasing his sensitive side, Vernon became loved by the whole of the UK, and for good reason, too. From taking on incredibly tough trials to almost beating the highly anticipated Celebrity Cyclone, Vernon Kay made the show an incredibly memorable one.

We can’t wait to see what is next for Vernon!

3. Giovanna Fletcher

The Queen of the Castle!

Giovanna entered the castle with the largest Instagram following at 1.3 million, but since heading home, she has still managed a 34% increase! And with her follower count continuing to rise, we expect Queen Gi to reach the big two million in no time.

Gi captured all of our hearts this year, proving the strength and can-do attitude of mothers everywhere. From abseiling down a cliff, to the dreaded eating challenge and the Celebrity Cyclone, Giovanna has had the full castle experience.

With bundles of love and bravery, Giovanna is already a force to be reckoned with! And we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for this year’s Queen of the Castle.

The cast of 2020

This years’ series saw a truly incredible line-up. Including Sir Mo Farah CBE, Hollie Arnold MBE, EastEnders’ Shane Ritchie and Strictly’s AJ Pritchard, we have witnessed some of the best TV moments of all time.

And it isn’t just the 2020 finalists that have had such impressive jumps in their social media followings. Hollie Arnold entered the castle with just 6.5k followers and now has over 35,000! Russel Watson also began his castle journey with just 4,000 followers and has now amassed over 67k, with Ruthie Henshall not too far behind him.

What’s next?

Over the years, we have seen celebrity contestants go on to further their careers and we are sure that this year will be no different!

We are super excited to see what 2021 has in store for our castle campmates!
