About Oritsé …
Oritsé is best known for being a member of the popular British boyband, JLS. Since rising to fame on The X Factor in 2008 and finishing as runners-up, Oritsé’s career within the music and entertainment industry has gone from strength to strength and doesn't stop there.
The band went on to achieve five number 1 chart-topping singles and sold over six million records worldwide. Not only that, but the group won two Brit Awards, five MOBO Awards, four Digital Music Awards and three Urban Music Awards. As well as being a talented singer, Oritsé is also recognised for his dancing talents as he won the ITV dance competition, Stepping Out in 2013.
Keen to help others, Oritsé, alongside his JLS bandmates, founded ‘The JLS Foundation’, raising money for six different charities. Oritsé is also well-known for his humanitarian work, including with the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Young Carers and The Princes Trust. He even had his very own documentary, Britain's Youngest Carers on Channel 4, investigating the plight of vulnerable people across the UK.
Oritsé uses Instagram to keep fans up to date with both his work and personal life, as well as sharing inspirational, motivational and positive quotes.
In 2020, it was announced that JLS would be getting back together for a reunion tour, after embarking upon a hiatus in 2013. During the group's break, Oritsé continued to stay involved within the music industry and went on to land a record deal as a solo artist, as well as spending time writing for other popular artists.
More recently, Oritsé has spent much of his time writing spoken word poetry and soon amassed over 200,000 impressions across his social media platforms because of this. He has also discussed important topics such as racism and inequality, and has even created a united front by starting the 'Enough is Enough' campaign, inspired by the words of his poems.
