About Carl Froch...
Carl Froch is a Nottingham-born former professional super-middleweight boxing fighter. Known as “The Cobra”, Carl has held multiple world championships throughout his career and is now working as a boxing analyst and commentator for Sky Sports covering some of the biggest matches around the world.
Carl’s career started off on a high. Performing well at an amateur level in the middleweight division, he won a bronze medal at the 2001 World Championships as well as the ABA title twice. Carl made his professional debut in 2002, at the age of 24, scoring an impressive win against Michael Pinnock.
Ever since then, Carl’s career has gone from strength to strength, seeing him win big not only on a national level but internationally as well, claiming four world championship titles. His first two came between the years of 2008 and 2011 when he held the WBC title not once, but twice. He claimed the third in 2012 when he won the IBF title, leading to the fourth, the WBA (unified) title, in 2013.
At a regional level, Carl held the British, Commonwealth and English Super-Middleweight titles as well as the Lonsdale belt back in 2006. Carl boasts a remarkable record with 33 wins, 24 of which he achieved via knockout, and only two losses to his name. His almost flawless professional journey saw Carl earn an MBE for his services to his sport as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2015.
Post-career, Carl has found a passion for professional poker, becoming an ambassador for Party Poker. His great athletic and fighting mentality allowed him to carry over some of the skills that he picked up from boxing over to the poker table, travelling the world to play in high stake tournaments.
