About Charlie Luxton...

Charlie Luxton is a British architectural designer and television presenter renowned for his commitment to sustainable architecture and environmental advocacy. Born in Sydney, Australia, in 1974, he relocated to the UK at the age of ten. Luxton pursued architectural studies at Oxford Brookes University, earning a BA, and later completed an MA at the Royal College of Art in London.

In 2000, Luxton co-founded the design and communications company Free State, focusing on projects that utilised the built environment to raise awareness beyond traditional media. Notable works include the "Zoomorphic" exhibition for the V&A and "Electric Storm," a renewable energy event on London's South Bank. By 2005, he shifted his focus to sustainable housing, establishing Charlie Luxton Design, which undertakes eco-friendly projects in London, Wiltshire, and the Cotswolds.

Luxton has presented several architecture-related television programmes, including "Modern British Architects" on Channel 5, "Dreamspaces" on BBC Three, and "Homes by the Sea" on More4. His broadcasting work often emphasises sustainable living and innovative design solutions.

Beyond his professional endeavours, Luxton is actively involved in promoting low-carbon living. He has implemented eco-friendly renovations in his own home and has encouraged his hometown of Hook Norton in Oxfordshire to adopt sustainable practices, leading to the village receiving the Government's Low Carbon Community Challenge grant.
