The Big 2020 Influencer Matchmaker Campaigns Roundup
What a year it’s been, hey?
And just like that, it’s 2021! Let’s hope for a much happier and healthier year than the last one.
We have so many exciting things in store for this year, but first, shall we take a look back on the last 12 months?
Ah, when the world was somewhat normal! Who remembers that?
Back in January, we were all sat ready and waiting for the first winter series of Love Island.
And to kick off the new year, we teamed up Daddy Cooks Food with Ryvita UK. Challenged to share some of his favourite savoury toppings, providing his followers with plenty of delicious recipes!
February was a busy month for us here at Influencer Matchmaker HQ, but one campaign really stood out. And that was Recipes From a Pantry X Love Food Hate Waste.
With everybody trying to make a more conscious effort to live a more sustainable lifestyle, Bintu collaborated with the brand to share several recipes using tasty leftovers. Encouraging her followers to make small yet impactful changes, the campaign was a huge success!
This month, we began working on a long-term collab between Love Island royalty Olivia Bowen and Eleventh Hour Beauty.
March also saw us partner the fabulous Caitlyn Jenner with PrettyLittleThing for their very first PLT Awards.
Due to COVID restrictions, people were unable to attend the event. However, PrettyLittleThing took the event online and it was a huge success, with Caitlyn taking home the award for LGBTQ+ Supporter of the Year.
April also saw us work with Vodafone to celebrate the launch of 5G throughout the UK. We paired them up with five high-profile influencers to create a virtual game with thousands of tech prizes up for grabs.
Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thomspon, The Wanted’s Max George, radio host and fitness influencer Gemma Atkinson, singer-songwriter Tallia Storm and blogger Em Sheldon all rose to the challenge and created a series of fun and engaging social media content. The campaign reached over 3.2 million people!
We also worked with Stacey Solomon and Amazon Handmade as part of their #GenerationOfGiving campaign. Stacey shared her top picks from the handmade service, attended a press event and explained the importance of handmade, personalised, and thoughtful gifts.
In May, we partnered up the lovely Dr Alex George with the Cabinet Office to encourage the UK to make use of the upcoming ease of lockdown restrictions to support and visit pubs and restaurants, whilst following government guidelines and remaining safe.
As an A&E doctor, Alex understands the effects of the pandemic better than anyone, making him the perfect influencer for this campaign!
June was a pivotal month for many reasons this year. It saw the first lockdown lift, allowing people to head back to work and see others safely outdoors.
This was an exciting month for us here at Influencer Matchmaker as we worked with a variety of parenting influencers to celebrate the launch of Frozen 2 on Disney+ in the UK. Jacqueline Jossa, Ferne McCann, Samantha Faiers and Binky Felstead all took to Instagram and got their children involved with the exciting campaign.
The campaign reached over eight million people! Yay!
August was an incredible month for the influencer marketing industry, with Gymshark becoming a £1billion+ company.
Also, in August, we partnered Daddy Cooks Food with Love Fresh Berries to recreate their delicious raspberry and chocolate granola – the perfect breakfast for warm, summer mornings!
The month that David Attenborough joined Instagram! The legend that is David Attenborough has not only joined Instagram, but also broke a world record by doing so!
In September, we began a long-term collaboration between Daddy Cooks Food and Thermomix. As part of the three-month campaign, Daddy Cooks Food will be creating recipes and sharing them to Instagram, providing his followers with some much-needed meal-time inspiration.
In the lead up to Christmas, everybody goes mad for toys! So, with Smyth Toys looking to promote their new advert, we teamed them up with just the right person – Dan Osborne! Creating fun content for Instagram and reaching over a million people, the campaign did extremely well.
ZEN launched their suite of digital finance solutions in strategic partnership with Mastercard, so with that in mind, we teamed them up with some of the best tech influencers in the game. Encouraging app downloads, What Gear and ASBYT took to Instagram and YouTube to share their posts and videos.
With two UK lockdowns impacting many people’s dating lives, we teamed up YouTube sensation Mark Ferris with Celebs Go Dating and Extra for a fun-filled video, Celebs Go Dating REWIND. Looking back on some of the show’s best dating moments and with Anna Williamson dishing out some particularly useful tips, the campaign was a fantastic way to finish off 2020!
December saw the end of everybody’s favourite show, I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! It was the show we all needed to see us through Lockdown 2.0 and whilst Giovanna Fletcher was crowned Queen of the Castle, Jordan North came out on top in our social media rankings.
Next stop... Dancing on Ice!
And throughout the year, we have worked closely with Travel Mad Mum and Explore Learning. As a parent who home-schools her children, Karen works with Explore Learning to help teach her daughter, Esme new skills in a fun and exciting way with her very own tutor! This has been a wonderful partnership with great results.
This year has been an interesting one to say the least, but we have been able to create some incredible campaigns along the way. We can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store for us here at Influencer Matchmaker.
